(0.3mm) wafer paper is more flexible, slightly translucent, and is great for folding 3D decorations (flowers, butterflies), but it is not intended to be placed directly on cream. (0.6mm) wafer paper is opaque, firm, and holds its shape well, so it is ideal for making standing figurines (toppers) and can be placed on drier cake surfaces.
Fondant/ sugar paste paper
- Thicker and significantly more flexible material
- Holds its structure very well; there is less risk of tearing when handling
- An excellent choice for wrapping cake sides (cake ribbons) and for 3D elements
- Distinctly sweet, pleasant taste reminiscent of classic sugar paste
